A Mate from the Past – 1944 LIVE
Friday, January 1st, 2010
This has been one of the most rewarded and talked-about “social media” projects in Poland in 2009. The task was to awaken interest among young Polish people in one of the most courageous struggles in Poland’s history -- the Warsaw Uprising that took place in 1944, at the decline of World War II. The Nazis suppressed the Uprising after 2 months of bloody combat which cost the life of 200 000 victims, mostly the young Polish fighters and Warsaw citizens. The video below explains how the agency managed to connect the contemporary young people of 2009 with their peers who were fighting for freedom in 1944 with the use of Facebook and several of its tools.
