Here’s a personal collection of things I’ve been wanting to blog about for a while, and it seems like the right time of the year to put them all together. Enjoy!
New campaign for UBISOFT Rayman Raving Rabbibs TV Party. A Wii game about awkwardly cute buck-toothed bunny drones called rabbids and their quest for world domination. The goal is for Rayman to defeat rabbids by performing tasks to entertain them. A sick social joke? perhaps.
The new campaign is anything but conventional: It features people trying––unsuccessfully––to play popular games like charades and chess with their butts. Who did they choose to make the idea come to life? Director Brian Belefant.
Belefant has a theater of the mind style of story-telling encompassing wit with dark comedy. So of course, he is drawn to this type of unconventional subject matter. Belefant is best known for ‘Burning Passion’ a multiple award-winning film he directed about a guy who ejaculates fire, which will be be rereleased on the Day of Love in 2009.
The campaign commercials gained a collective of over 10.8 million hits on Youtube. The style of the spots is meant to look amateur and create the impression that the camera just happened to be in exactly the right place at the exactly right moment. The spots had an impact of a successful viral campaign.
5 spots were shot for this campaign here are sample of 3.
