New Microsoft spot with Jerry Seinfeld

There’s been a lot of buzz around the new TV spot for Microsoft starring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates himself. But I gotta say, even being a fan of Seinfeld’s work, this sucks big time. I think it’s kinda weak, a bit forced, and if that was the goal, they can’t match Apple’s Mac vs Pc spots.

Update: check the new TV spot here

Here’s a collection of 15 of those. Now that’s good stuff. Enjoy!

So many old media companies just don’t get it at all. They try and ape the authentic conversational style of web interaction but they fail big. You know, Microsoft is spending upwards of 300 million dollars on that crap campaign?! What a complete waste of money that could do some real good.

Couldn’t agree more Shelley. This budget could go to some real market research and then come out with a better concept to sell the product. Not a good idea to waste this kind of money on a celebrity. I love Seinfeld, but there’s something so nineties about him right now…
