International Fund for Animal Welfare

Saturday, March 24th, 2007

This is the new campaign of the IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) in the Netherlands. The word ‘Olifant’ as seen in the tv-spot is the dutch word for ‘Elephant’

As part of the campaign the guys from RappCollins also did some street art. A zebra crossing was made two weeks ago in the shape of a animal. It was done in the most expensive shopping street in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Time Ascent

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Anantha from 1PointSize, an advertising agency in India, just sent me this campaign. Here’s what he said about it:

‘Here’s a new campaign we did for Times Ascent (India’s largest recruitment paper). The objective of the campaign was to project Times as the vehicle for creamier jobs. We interpreted this as ’step into bigger shoes’ with Times Ascent.

I usually show ads that do work here at The Ad Mad!, but today I wanted to get this one into discussion, even if it does not work in my opinion.

Replacing mirrors in public bathrooms with Polaroid cameras might seem a nice idea at first thought. But don’t you think it is a way too expensive campaign considering its reach and durability? I mean, I’m not sure how many pics can a Polaroid take before it’s gotta be replaced, but each person will not take only one pic! Come on, I know I would take a few ;)

Second: nowadays there’s nothing more instant than digital pics, and many people own cell phones with built-in cameras, so, is the this the way to show it’s worth buying a Polaroid cam? I don’t think so.

What are your thoughts on this one?
