Walking in the air

From one soft drink manufacturer to another, and this time with a Christmas theme. It’s not new, but those of you outwith the UK (perhaps even Scotland?) may not have seen it.

From Barr’s Irn-Bru (and again, for those of you who may be unfamiliar with the soft drink, it is an orange coloured concoction containing a large amount of sugar, but surprisingly nice and an enduring favourite for Scots), comes a new take on ‘The Snowman’. However, instead of taking a pleasant journey through the air with his new snowman friend, the boy in the advert finds himself losing both his drink and rapidly his altitude when he refuses to give his friend a drink of his can.

Should you wish to sing along, the words go alittle something like this:

“We’re walking in the air,I’m sipping on an Irn-Bru,
My chilly snowman mate says he would like some too.
I tell him “get your own”,
He looks like he is going to cry,
I tell him once again, the Irn-Bru is mine.
Now I’m falling through the air,
I wonder where I’m going to land.
He nicked my Irn-Bru and let go of my hand.”

"dare for more"

I just came across these images of the latest Pepsi campaign to come out of Germany and I have to say I’ve been blown away by them.

Not only are the images visually stunning, but the brand is so well-communicated, both by the use of the logo over the images and by the strengthening of the brand ethos of ‘daring for more’.

I have to admit that I never usually choose Pepsi over Coca-cola when drinking a Coke, however, I am not a regular coke drinker. Adverts such as these then might just persuade me to try Pepsi for once over its rival - if only as a pat on the back for these excellent adverts. I can always pretend that I am riding that giant wave as I drink…

I really can’t say enough about them. Just fantastic.
